Ingredients that ensure your formulation stays stable

Every skincare product is a carefully crafted chemical formulation, requiring the right balance of ingredients to create a user-friendly format. For example, simply mixing the key active ingredients might result in a watery liquid instead of a proper moisturizer. To achieve the ideal consistency, we must ensure the product stays stable, preventing it from separating into different components or turning into a sticky mess.

Ingredients that ensure your product remains safe and effective

Preservatives are crucial in skincare, despite fear-mongering claims suggesting otherwise. Without them, harmful bacteria like Staphylococcus and E. coli, which pose serious health risks, can grow in your products. Consider what bacteria need to thrive:

  • Water: Most skincare products contain 70% or more water, creating an ideal environment for bacteria.
  • Humidity & Room Temperature: Many products are stored in bathrooms or at room temperature, which encourages bacterial growth.
  • Perfect pH: Skincare often has the perfect pH for bacteria to flourish.
  • Oxygen: Each time you open a jar or tube, you expose the product to oxygen, allowing bacteria to enter.
  • Sunlight: Skincare products are often exposed to light when opened.
  • Bacteria introduction: Touching your product can introduce bacteria directly into the formula.

Preservatives play an essential role in preventing bacterial contamination, ensuring your skincare remains safe and effective.
